Breakfast with Buddha
Breakfast with Buddha
Roland Merullo
Two men from very different walks of life: one man is a your average Joe or in this case your average Otto, the other is a guru - forced into taking a road trip together. Brought together by Otto's sister who is suppose to be taking the road trip with Otto, to settle their parents estate. Otto's sister can not make the trip and she wants Otto to take her guru instead.
What neither man expects is what they will learn about themselves from the other. It is very much a road trip of self-discovery, not only for the characters in the book, but for the reader as well.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking for that "missing something" in their lives. This book made me look at things/people in my life in a whole new, more positive perspective.

Marion is always open to suggestions, and keeps a "wants to read" book journal of books suggested to her.

Sh*t My Dad Says
Justin Halpern
This book will make you laugh. I found myself reading quote after quote aloud to my son, my husband or anyone who was within earshot of my laughter. Each chapter involved a specific story from Justin's life with his Dad and is followed by a couple of pages of Dad's quotes on a particular topic.

Everyone's family has their share of family stories, but Justin's stories from Dad's point of view will keep you laughing for days.
